The Porscheshop initially began as a mail order company catering for the whole of the U.K. and also international destinations. Due to requests from local customers a service centre was opened, alongside the continual expansion of the parts mail order side of the business.

All our staff are enthusiastic about the marque and have been involved with Porsche cars in one way or another for a long period of time. The parts and service staff have a detailed knowledge of all models. This is backed up by a large quantity of stock on the premises plus good backup from our suppliers. This means we can offer next day delivery on most lines, either by post or by courier.

Addio a Sergio Pininfarina

Si è spento all’età di 85 anni nella sua amata Torino, uno dei più grandi carrozzieri Italiani, Sergio Pininfarina che aveva “vestito” alcune delle più belle vetture prodotte in Italia per marchi come Ferrari, Fiat, Alfa Romeo e Maserati e Lancia.

E pensare che non voleva neanche fare il carrozziere da bambino ma il maestro d’orchestra, convinto dalla madre a intraprendere gli studi per ingegneria meccanica al politecnico di Torino s’innamorerà dell’automobile, una volta entrato nell’azienda di famiglia condotta dal padre Battista “pinin” Farina.

Dalla sua matita usciranno capolavori di stile come la favolosa Ferrari 250 SWB Gran Turismo, la Ferrari 246 GTS Dino, senza dimenticare 365 GTC 4, la 288 GTO (secondo me una delle più belle Ferrari stradali mai prodotte) la Ferrari Testarossa (icona degli anni 80, sopra in foto), la 456 GT, 360 spider, 575 Maranello, senza dimenticare tutte le altre per case come Fiat come 130 coupè e la 124 spider, o la mitica Fiat Campagnola. Per la lancia, sua l’indimenticabile Beta Montecarlo, ma il suo talento e i servigi della sua azienda non erano solo richiesti dalle case automobilistiche Italiane, ma anche da case straniere come Pegeout (dai disegni dell’azienda Torinese verrano create la 104, la 205, la 406, 504, 604) Honda, Citoen e Bentley.

Con Sergio Pininfarina se ne va via un altro pezzetto di quei grandi industriali, maestri di stile e ingegnosità, che con la loro passione fecero l’Italia padrone di un epoca nel mondo dell’automobilismo.

Piccola curiosità, il suo cognome alla nascita era Farina (era cugino del grande pilota di F1 Nino Farina) il suo cognome fu cambiato da Farina in Pininfarina nel 1961 per meriti dal Presidente della Repubblica Italiana Giovanni Gronchi.

He died at age 85 in his beloved Turin, one of the greatest Italian designer, Sergio Pininfarina, who had “dressed” some of the most beautiful cars produced in Italy for brands like Ferrari, Fiat, Alfa Romeo and Maserati and Lancia.

And to think that as a child, Sergio Pininfarina wanted to be a master of the orchestra, persuaded by his mother to undertake studies for mechanical engineering at the Polytechnic of Turin, fall in love with the car, once joined in the family factory led by his father Battista “Pinin” Farina.

Will come from his pencil masterpieces of style, as the fabulous Ferrari 250 GT SWB, the Ferrari Dino 246 GTS, 365 GTC 4 not forgetting, the 288 GTO (for me, one of the most beautiful Ferraris ever made) Ferrari Testarossa (icon of the 80s, in photo above), the 456 GT, 360 spiders, 575 Maranello and then for all other car factory’s like Fiat 130 as the 124 coupe and spider, or the legendary Fiat Campagnola. For the Lancia, the unforgettable’s Beta Montecarlo, but his talent and the services of his company were not only required by Italian car factory’s, but also by foreign factory’s as Pegeout (drawings will be created the company Torinese 104, 205 , the 406, 504, 604) Honda Citoen and Bentley.
